Six tries to find a five-letter word. Green means the letter is correct and in the right place, yellow means the letter is in the word somewhere else, grey means it is not in the word at all.
The obvious difference: PlayJoy never makes you wait twenty-four hours. Finish a round and a fresh board appears immediately.
Openers that carry the most information
A good opener tests three or four common vowels and several high-frequency consonants at once. Words built from S, T, R, A, E, L, N cover a large share of English five-letter answers and usually leave you with three or four yellows to work from.
Avoid repeating letters in your first guess. Five distinct characters test five distinct facts about the answer; a doubled letter wastes one of those slots.
Use guess two to eliminate, not to win
Unless the board is nearly solved, your second guess should use entirely fresh letters. This is the single biggest gap between casual and strong players: winning early feels good, but eliminating the alphabet wins more games over a week.
Beware the trap of repeated yellows
If a letter keeps coming back yellow in the same position, the answer probably contains it twice or contains a different vowel you have not tested. Switch a vowel rather than reshuffling the same consonants.
